The Major Crimes Division handles the prosecution of a variety of crimes including: Murder, Robbery, Shootings and Assaults with Deadly or Dangerous Weapons, Sex Crimes involving Adult and Child Victims and Major Drug Crimes. Five Assistant District Attorneys work in the division. Together, they have a total of over 70 years of experience prosecuting criminal cases. The lawyers prepare and prosecute their cases through trial. They handle all sentencing hearings on these major offenses as well as revocation hearings if necessary. The unit’s main objective is the protection of not only the citizens of Cleveland County but also the citizens of Oklahoma by aggressively prosecuting crimes against children, sex offenders, and violations regarding the Oklahoma Sex Offender Registration Act.
